Common terms within ProduceRX.org defined, sorted in order of importance for understanding.

Produce Prescription Program (PPR)

An incentive-based, task-driven course to help drive health benefits by providing both nutrition education and food as medicine to eligible participants.

Organization

A convening body that hosts one or more PPR.

Cohort

A group of participants who are given a series of milestones to complete over a timebound period for incentive distribution and evaluation.

Participant

An eligible person who has registered for a Produce Prescription Program and been enrolled within a cohort.

Milestone

A collection of tasks within a cohort, that once completed, triggers the creation of an incentive distribution. Milestones can have one or many tasks, each with their own due dates.

Task

A single element of a milestone that must be completed and verified. Tasks are defined by program administrators and can include anything from in-person meetings, educational aovideo, text, images, attachments)

Incentive

A definable benefit that is distributed to a program participant upon completion of a milestone.
